CLI stands for Compliant Lighting Initiative and is a market surveillance program of LightingEurope in partnership with European national lighting associations. The aim of the CLI is to ensure a fair competition among companies in the lighting industry, specifically with regard to the luminaire market.

LightingEurope, as the association representing the interests of the lighting industry in Europe, deplores that a significant number of unsafe lighting products are still entering the EU market.

Moreover, as not all EU Member States adequately perform market surveillance as intended by the EU legislator, LightingEurope decided to launch its own industry-driven market surveillance program called Compliant Lighting Initiative. Its focus is on the surveilling and testing of the European luminaire market through cooperation with national lighting associations.
